Arkema’s Taixing acrylic business facility in Asia, reached a significant milestone by receiving its first vessel of ISCC+ Mass Balance* certified propylene feedstock. Since obtaining the ISCC+ certification at the end of 2023**, the Taixing site is ready to deliver its first order of bio-attributed acrylic monomers in the third quarter of 2024. This will enhance our ability to support local and regional customers in achieving their sustainable goals by providing more sustainable acrylic monomer products with an increased bio-attributed content ratio and significantly reducing carbon footprint

* Mass Balance: Mass balance chain of custody is designed to track the total amount of the content in scope through the production system and ensure an appropriate allocation of this content to the finished goods based on auditable bookkeeping. Property conservation principle is set to ensure that the total certified output does not exceed its original input and take into account the appropriate conversion losses and production / assembly ratios.  “The ISSC+ certification of the whole supply chain guarantees that the origin of the renewable sources meets ISCC+ standards for sustainable feedstocks. “

** At the end of 2023, the Taixing site successfully obtained the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification-PLUS (ISCC+), becoming Arkema’s first site in the Asia-Pacific region to receive this certification. The ISCC+ certification covers all stages of the value chain and verifies that renewable materials are used throughout. This is an internationally recognized certification.
