Arkema Changshu site

Established in 1998, Arkema Changshu site covers 430,000 m2 and is Arkema Group’s largest industrial platform worldwide, with around 860 employees and €500 million capex invested (since spinning off from TotalEnergies).

The site has four plants, including Arkema (Changshu) Fluorochemical Co., Ltd., Arkema (Changshu) Chemicals Co., Ltd., Changshu Rheology and Specialty Additives Co., Ltd., Arkema (Changshu) Polyamides Co., Ltd.. Also located on the site are, Arkema (China) Investment Co., Ltd., Changshu Branch, the R&D center as well as the regional financial sharing center. Materials manufactured on-site mainly include specialty polyamides, fluoropolymer (PVDF), organic peroxides, fluorogases, rheology additives, coating resins, etc.

MILESTONES

-     In 2011, the first production line for Arkema Kynar® was started up.

-     In 2011, Rheology and Specialty Additives started up its Changshu plant and simultaneously launched the technical service application laboratory.

-     In 2012, Arkema Changshu plant successfully increased production capacity for Kynar® fluoropolymer.

-     In 2013, the first R&D Center in China was unveiled.

-     In 2014, Arkema announced the construction of an organic peroxide plant at its Changshu site to increase production capacity.

-     In 2014, Arkema’s first coating resins emulsion plant in Asia Pacific was started up in Changshu.

-     In 2017, Arkema successfully started up its new Kynar® PVDF production facility at its Changshu site, increasing production capacity.

-     In 2018, Arkema announced an increase in capacity for Rilsamid® PA12 polymer.

-     In 2018, Arkema expanded Changshu R&D Center, further improved its technological capabilities in Asia.

-     In 2020, Arkema increased Kynar® fluoropolymer capacity at its Changshu site.

-     In 2021, Arkema announced an increase in fluoropolymer capacity at its Changshu site.

-     Arkema (Changshu) Fluorochemical Co., Ltd.

Founded in 1996, Arkema (Changshu) Fluorochemical Co., Ltd. is a manufacturer of anhydrous hydrofluoric acid, refrigerant and fluoropolymer PVDF.

 

-   Arkema (Changshu) Chemicals Co., Ltd.

Arkema (Changshu) Chemicals Co., Ltd.’s state-of-the-art organic peroxides plant has implemented the most advanced safety measures and possesses some of the most competitive production technologies across the industry. Organic peroxides are mainly used in three major fields: polymers such as polyethylene, polypropylenes and polystyrenes; cross-linking agents such as solar cell films, cables, and plastic hoses; unsaturated polyester Resins such as artificial marble and automotive interiors. The plant is well-positioned to meet increasing demands from both domestic and international markets.

 

-     Changshu Rheology and Specialty Additives Co., Ltd.

With over 40 years’ experience, Rheology and Specialty Additives is a global leading manufacturer of rheology additives for aqueous formulations and waterborne processes. In 2011, Changshu Rheology and Specialty Additives Co., Ltd. began producing rheology additive solutions to meet increasing market demands of painting, mineral processing, construction and paper industries across Asia Pacific.

Arkema coating resins plant officially opened in 2013 and is equipped with a high-performance acrylic emulsion unit. It is fully capable of meeting market demands for high performance acrylic emulsions across Asia Pacific.

 

-  Arkema (Changshu) Polyamides Co., Ltd.

The completion of the polymerization production line in 2001 enabled the production of Copa resin. In 2020, the production of special polyamide and polyamide modified products was further expanded.
